Our story
He kupu, he reo,
he aroha — kotahi.
Ako with Nola is made by a Māori–Tongan whānau in Aotearoa, for tamariki growing up across te reo Māori and lea faka-Tonga — and for the kaiako and whānau learning alongside them.
Named for Nola
Nola is the founder — this was her idea before it was anything else. The name is hers, and so is the kaupapa.
Every voice will be a real voice
The recordings are being made by the whānau themselves, so a tamaiti hears each kupu the way their own family says it. No synthetic voices, no shortcuts.
That is also why the site is quiet at the moment: the play buttons are waiting on real people, and we would rather they waited than filled the gap with something generated.
